Trump’s new order could change XRP forever

President Donald Trump’s latest fintech executive order has placed crypto payment access at the center of U.S. financial policy discussions. The order calls on the Federal Reserve to review whether crypto firms should be granted direct access to U.S. payment systems, including Federal Reserve master accounts. The move has raised concern across the digital asset market, as it could affect how firms such as Ripple connect to the traditional banking system. For XRP, the token tied to Ripple’s payment network, the review shows a possible shift from reliance on intermediary banks toward direct participation in national payment rails. Trump’s latest fintech executive order could be the massive catalyst $XRP has been waiting for. By directing the Fed to review giving crypto firms direct access to US payment rails, the administration is opening the door for players like @Ripple to bypass legacy banking… pic.twitter.com/nvB3aao1vI — 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸XRP (@BankXRP) May 25, 2026 The executive order arrives as lawmakers continue advancing legislation on the crypto market structure in Washington. Together, the regulatory and banking changes are impacting discussions around how digital asset companies may operate within the U.S. financial system. Federal Reserve access review reshapes crypto banking debate For years, fintech and crypto firms have depended on partner banks to access core payment infrastructure. Transactions involving digital asset firms passed through intermediaries because direct access to central banks remained restricted. Under Trump’s order, regulators will now decide whether firms, including Coinbase, Circle Internet Group, and Ripple, can obtain direct access to Federal Reserve services. The review follows earlier reforms highlighted by Cryptopolitan, including Kraken, whose banking division secured limited access through a specialized charter structure. That decision laid the foundation for broader discussions about crypto participation in U.S. payment systems. The executive order stated that current financial regulations may affect innovation within the fintech and digital asset industries. Banking organizations, however, have raised concerns surrounding stability and oversight if direct access expands beyond traditional financial institutions. Ripple’s payment model faces a possible change case Ripple has repeatedly positioned XRP as a liquidity asset for cross-border payments and institutional settlement services. The company’s infrastructure was built to reduce delays and costs associated with international transfers. However, if Ripple gains access to the Federal Reserve’s payment systems, the company may reduce its reliance on correspondent banking networks. That shift may eliminate other settlement layers that are linked to the institutional transfers. The launch could influence transaction speed, liquidity transfer and enterprise payment activity costs for the XRP network. If the regulations are approved, financial institutions that use Ripple’s services may be able to complete transactions with fewer intermediaries. Further, the review might enable quicker settlements, reduced institutional expenses, and potential access to Federal Reserve payment infrastructure. If it gains approval as reported , the use of XRP in regulated cross-border finance can grow. CLARITY Act vote adds momentum to crypto regulation The executive order came into effect during a period of digital asset legislation in Washington. On May 14, 2026, the Senate Banking Committee approved the CLARITY Act in a 15-9 vote, advancing the crypto market structure bill to the full Senate. Every Republican on the committee supported the legislation, alongside Democratic Senators Ruben Gallego and Angela Alsobrooks. The legislation aims to define how digital assets are classified under U.S. law. It also seeks to clarify which assets fall under securities regulation and which qualify as digital commodities under the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s oversight. The House of Representatives previously passed its own version of the legislation in July 2025 by a 294-134 vote. Earlier this year, the Senate Agriculture Committee also advanced portions of the framework tied to spot digital commodity markets. Debates surrounding stablecoin yield provisions delayed negotiations for months. The disagreement became big enough for the White House to organize discussions between banking groups and crypto industry participants in search of compromise terms. Moreover, the latest Senate Banking Committee vote marked the resumption of those negotiations after months of stalled discussions surrounding crypto regulation and financial oversight. Whale Opens $6.4M 10x Leveraged Long on NEAR, Signaling Bullish Bet

BitcoinWorld Whale Opens $6.4M 10x Leveraged Long on NEAR, Signaling Bullish Bet A cryptocurrency whale has placed a significant bet on NEAR Protocol, opening a $6.45 million long position with 10x leverage over the past ten hours. The trade, which was flagged by on-chain analytics firm Lookonchain, involves approximately 2.34 million NEAR tokens and signals a strong bullish conviction from a well-capitalized anonymous trader. Details of the Whale Trade The address, beginning with 0x7be1, executed the leveraged long position through a series of transactions. In addition to the initial position, the same wallet has placed a limit buy order for another 813,000 NEAR tokens, valued at roughly $2 million, at a price target of $2.46. This secondary order suggests the whale is prepared to accumulate more tokens if the price dips, reinforcing a strategy of aggressive accumulation. 10x leverage means the trader is borrowing nine times their own capital to amplify potential returns. While this can lead to outsized gains if NEAR’s price rises, it also exposes the position to liquidation if the token drops by approximately 10% from the entry price. The size of the trade is notable, representing a meaningful fraction of NEAR’s daily trading volume on major exchanges. Market Context and Implications This whale activity comes amid a period of relative consolidation for NEAR, which has been trading in a range between $2.40 and $2.80 over the past several weeks. Large leveraged positions often attract attention from other traders, as they can signal directional conviction and sometimes precede increased volatility. On-chain data from Lookonchain indicates that the whale’s entry price was not disclosed in the initial report, but the additional buy order at $2.46 provides a reference point for the trader’s valuation floor. The use of a 10x leverage multiple is aggressive by institutional standards but not uncommon among high-net-worth individual traders in the crypto space. What This Means for NEAR Investors For retail investors, large whale trades serve as a data point but should not be taken as a guaranteed signal. Whales can also hedge or manipulate positions, and leveraged longs carry inherent risk of liquidation cascades. The $6.4 million position, while large, is not unprecedented for NEAR, which has seen similar-sized trades during previous market cycles. It is also worth noting that the anonymous nature of the address means the trader’s identity, strategy, and risk management approach remain unknown. The position could be part of a larger hedging strategy or a standalone speculative bet. Conclusion The opening of a $6.4 million 10x leveraged long on NEAR by a single whale address highlights the continued presence of large, directional capital in the cryptocurrency market. While the trade suggests a bullish outlook on NEAR’s near-term price action, the inherent risks of leverage mean the outcome remains uncertain. Investors should monitor on-chain data for any liquidation events or position adjustments that could influence market dynamics. FAQs Q1: What does a 10x leveraged long position mean? A 10x leveraged long position allows a trader to control a position size ten times larger than their initial capital. If NEAR’s price increases by 5%, the position gains 50% (minus fees). However, a 10% price drop would result in a total loss of the initial margin, triggering liquidation. Q2: How was this whale trade detected? The trade was identified by Lookonchain, an on-chain analytics platform that monitors blockchain transactions for large or unusual activity. The address 0x7be1 was flagged for executing a series of large buy orders and opening a leveraged position on a decentralized exchange or lending protocol. Q3: Should retail traders follow whale trades? Whale trades can provide useful market sentiment data, but they carry significant risks. Whales may have different time horizons, risk tolerance, and access to information. Retail traders should conduct their own research and avoid blindly copying large positions, especially those with high leverage. Aave, Kelp DAO Announce Full rsETH Operations Restoration

On May 25, Aave and Kelp DAO jointly announced the full restoration of rsETH operations after a month of recovery process following the $292 million hack on April 18. The final tranche of 20,373 rsETH was transferred to the rsETH OFT adapter, which helped them to refill the bridge lockbox and restore proper backing. Despite this, some users are still facing issues related to rsETH tokens during bridging, converting, or withdrawing. After over a month of unrest and constant efforts, on Monday, Aave and Kelp DAO jointly announced that they have completely restored rsETH operations after the last trench of tokens was transferred to the LayerZero lockbox. According to the official statement shared in the post on X, Kelp DAO mentioned that the final trench of 20,373.72 rsETH has been sent to the rsETH OFT adapter earlier today. With this, the DeFi platform has claimed that they have fully restored operations. Kelp DAO and Aave Restores rsETH Operation After 39 Days In one month, Aave and Kelp DAO team members have done commendable work to restore operations normally despite the constant criticism from the community for their weak security measures during the cyber attack. However, these efforts were also joined by other DeFi entities who showed their support in Aave’s DeFi United program. On April 18, the Kelp DAO hack incident took place, and attackers managed to steal approximately $292 million worth of rsETH tokens after exploiting a loophole in its LayerZero-based cross-chain bridge. According to the official statement from Kelp DAO, hackers have siphoned off 116,500 rsETH tokens, which were around 18% of the token’s circulating supply. The hack has created serious problems around the decentralized finance sector after the hackers moved the stolen rsETH tokens and used them as collateral on the Aave lending platform. This allowed them to borrow around $192 million worth of Wrapped Ethereum (wETH). This action, done by attackers, has forced many platforms, including Aave, SparkLend, and Fluid, to freeze their markets on a temporary basis to avoid any further damage in this attack. This was an obvious moment where DeFi users started panicking and started rushing to withdraw their money from the DeFi sector. In just a few hours, more than $13 billion was wiped out from the sector. After this attack, Wrapped Ethereum stuck around more than 20 different blockchains. Not just this, this attack has created bad debt in the DeFi sector. In retaliation for this cyber attack, the Arbitrum Security Council managed to freeze around $71 million worth of Ethereum tokens that were linked to the hacker on the Arbitrum One network. This was the first major victory in the recovery of stolen funds. After this attack, Kelp DAO, Aave, and a group of DeFi entities have announced a new initiative called DeFi United. This program has included a plan to raise recovery funds through Aave’s Recovery Guardian and Kelp’s own safe. Apart from this, Aave and Kelp DAO have also burned the exploiter’s compromised rsETH tokens on Arbitrum, which were around 117,132. After this, they have started gathering ETH to refill the bridge’s lockbox and restore the proper backing for rsETH. Some Users Still Facing Issues with hgETH Tokens While Aave and KelpDAO have fully restored the operations for rsETH tokens, some users on X are still raising questions about issues with hgETH tokens. It is the liquid token issued by Kelp DAO’s High Growth Vault. According to some users on social media platforms, many hgETH token holders are facing problems with various operations like bridging, converting, or withdrawing their tokens even after the rsETH’s fill operation was announced. These hgETH token holders are asking for a specific timeline regarding full hgETH operational restoration. As of now, Kelp DAO has not announced any major update related to this matter. In the last few days, the team has announced the reopening of certain vaults, like agETH. Due to a lack of communication, various rumors are floating around the incident, and the Kelp DAO team needs to give clarification on it. Gold Edges Higher Above $4,550 as US-Iran Peace Optimism Grows

BitcoinWorld Gold Edges Higher Above $4,550 as US-Iran Peace Optimism Grows Gold prices inched higher on Wednesday, trading above the $4,550 mark, as growing optimism over potential peace talks between the United States and Iran tempered safe-haven demand for the dollar while maintaining interest in the precious metal as a hedge against lingering uncertainty. Market Reaction to Geopolitical Developments The modest uptick in gold comes amid reports of renewed diplomatic channels between Washington and Tehran, following months of heightened tensions in the Middle East. Market participants are closely monitoring signals from both capitals, with any concrete steps toward de-escalation likely to reduce the geopolitical risk premium embedded in oil and gold prices. According to trading data from major exchanges, gold futures for June delivery settled at $4,558.20 per troy ounce, up 0.4% from the previous session. The move was supported by a slight softening in the U.S. dollar index, which slipped 0.1% as traders rotated out of safe-haven currencies into riskier assets on the peace optimism. Understanding the Gold Price Drivers Gold’s dual nature as both a safe-haven asset and a hedge against inflation means its price is influenced by a complex interplay of factors. In the current environment, the potential for reduced Middle East tensions could paradoxically support gold prices by weakening the dollar, which makes gold cheaper for international buyers. Analysts at several investment banks have noted that the $4,500–$4,600 range has become a key support zone for gold, with buyers stepping in whenever prices dip below that threshold. The level reflects a combination of central bank buying, retail investor demand, and institutional portfolio hedging. Impact on Broader Markets The peace optimism has also affected other asset classes. Crude oil prices retreated slightly on the prospect of eased supply disruptions, while equity markets in Asia and Europe posted modest gains. However, traders remain cautious, noting that past diplomatic efforts have often stalled or collapsed, leaving the risk of renewed conflict alive. For investors, the key takeaway is that gold continues to serve as a barometer of global geopolitical risk. While the immediate catalyst is US-Iran relations, the metal’s price trajectory will also depend on upcoming U.S. inflation data, Federal Reserve policy signals, and broader economic growth expectations. Conclusion Gold’s move above $4,550 reflects a market that is cautiously optimistic about US-Iran peace prospects but not yet ready to abandon its safe-haven positions. The metal’s ability to hold these levels will depend on tangible diplomatic progress and the broader macroeconomic backdrop. Investors should watch for any concrete agreements or breakdowns in talks as the next major catalyst for price direction. FAQs Q1: Why does gold rise when there is peace optimism? A: Peace optimism can weaken the U.S. dollar as traders move to riskier assets, making gold cheaper for foreign buyers and boosting demand. Additionally, gold remains a hedge against uncertainty, and any ambiguity in peace talks can still support prices. Q2: What is the key support level for gold right now? A: Analysts identify the $4,500–$4,600 range as a key support zone, reinforced by central bank buying and institutional demand. A break below $4,500 could signal a shift in sentiment. Q3: How do US-Iran talks affect other commodities? A: Crude oil prices often decline on peace optimism due to reduced risk of supply disruptions. Industrial metals may also benefit from improved economic sentiment, while safe-haven currencies like the yen and Swiss franc may weaken.
